I really love this bag. Just because I don't like the weird patterns of standard makeup bags doesn't mean I want to look like a slob all day. It has nice pockets for cosmetics on one side and tampons/first aid on the other side while not taking up too much space in my backpack. I'd say it's probably too big for a purse unless you're like me and carry all of your earthly possessions everywhere you go in huge bags.(Side note: It's kinda weird that they title this mens toiletry bag because I can't be the only woman who wants a makeup bag that doesn't have "Eat, pray, mascara" in bedazzled pink letters on the side.)
