Over the past few years I have been disappointed with the selection of treetops at local stores. They're either cheap, brightly colored, covered in glitter, or they project images onto the ceiling (the kids will love that, but there aren't any kids in this house). Made of metal and glass, this star is very different but so simple. The front is glazed, the back is not. Another reviewer thought the lack of glass on the back would upset the balance, but the star I have balances well on a 7-foot artificial pencil tree. I folded this top vertical log in half before covering it. However, the star is light, so it may wobble a little when the tree moves. I planted the top of the curved tree trunk as far as possible so that star doesn't go anywhere until the tree itself falls. I like the bronze color of the metal. It has a farming/industrial feel that's so hard to find in affordable treetops. Very happy with the purchase. I will be using this on my tree for many seasons to come.
