I know I give a lot of stars for researching shit. In fact I hate doing returns, it's a waste of my time and yours. Although some of the reviews here say the lids don't close, or the cubes are hard to get hold of, or that there are leftovers, I bought them anyway. Look, I see, I live in a house that's over 260 years old, next to a river, and we have a well. Can you say limescale and iron deposits - yes!?! I bought them because I love wine and ice cubes. I've used veggies for water and only use bottled water (see comment on lime and iron). I know you can't drink bottled water but we drink a lot of water and we even have a 5 gallon water cooler (see comment on scale and iron) plus all the scale makes me nauseous. I have not seen any traces in cubes, drinks or silicone. Red for my wine as I'm the only one who drinks it. I hate wasting a bottle as I don't drink that much. Now I love slush and these big cubes can be filled with leftover wine. These lids are lightweight. They go over the edge of the tray very easily and allow the tray to fold neatly into the freezer (fridge/freezer and/or chest freezer). Now I have wine porridge and big ice cubes to tide you over evenings, weekends or whatever. I need a refreshing cold. I buy more because, well, simply because they work. Ten stars from me!
