As with other tech enthusiasts, the big question is whether you should choose between a budget-friendly kit like this, or more reliable iFixit kits. Linus Tech Tips made a pretty awesome video analyzing the iFixit kit versus cheaper kits. Of course, I think iFixit is their sponsor, so the video comes with a grain of salt, but he makes some good points about the quality. I bought this set with calculated expectations and was very surprised. All the parts work great and it feels like it's in a nice compact package. My only complaints about it: * The driver is a little bent. Another reviewer mentioned this and I noticed mine is a bit too. It's subtle but there. It's soft enough that I can bend it straight.* The tweezers are pretty flimsy. I don't see them breaking but they are definitely soft enough to bend under pressure. So you hop around in a tiny compartment. Not terrible, but a bad/lazy design choice. Overall I really like it and would recommend it to everyone I know. All he really needs is an anti-static strap and better quality tweezers.
