I bought this for a new well pump installation that includes a 240v 3/4hp pump. and a digital timer head for a 120v water softener. I only had a 240v line available for the pump shed, so I ran the line to a regular two socket plug in the shed. The pigtail from the pump plugs straight into the outlet and gets 240V, and then I connected this device to a different plug to convert it to 120V. This unit has 2-120v outlets and I run the water softener from one and the second available for the lights to add warmth to the barn room during a cold snap here in Florida. I found the circuit breaker to work when I hooked up a 2000 psi electric washer to it to clean my siding. This device managed a steady drain for over an hour before popping out and restarting after a 10-minute pause. I highly recommend it and the price was good. Update: 3 years in use and still works great.
