I go kayaking and paddling (SUP) a lot and so far it's been great! I usually only take the essentials with me when I'm out on the water like my phone, wallet, car keys and I find this waterproof bag very roomy for whatever I need to take with me. I wanted to find a bag with a clasp, like phones. I read in some other reviews that the bag is difficult to open, but personally I had no problems with it at all. You can watch my example video how to open it easily. The bag keeps my stuff dry, but if you're worried about stuff getting wet, I suggest putting essential items (wallet, keys) in a waterproof pocket in a zipped pocket for extra security. If you're even more worried about your phone, I also like to use a waterproof clear phone case (that I see on Amazon that has a strap attached) with my phone as I like to take it out to take pictures. It's basically doubly waterproof as I also keep it in my pocket if I'm not going to be using it for a long time, but personally I like to wear it around my neck for easy access to photos on the water. It might seem strange to use a waterproof phone case in a waterproof bag, but it's better than losing a $1,000 phone to water damage. Additionally, straps are attached to the waterproof phone case/bag in case it accidentally slips out of your hands. I also recommend testing the bag before using it on a real trip. I tested mine by putting paper towels in it, then placing it in a bathtub filled with water, throwing the bag in and soaking it several times over the course of 30 minutes. Everything was dry when opened. The bag will also pop open if there is enough air in it before you close it. However, I haven't tested how much it floats with heavier items inside. I recommend just adjusting the strap so it's snug against your body so it doesn't somehow come loose from you if you fall in the water.
