I know this isn't for its intended use, but it works great. I got this idea while looking for an exhaust fan to install in my basement paint room that would fit in an outside window. I mounted 5 fans side by side on a 1x8 with 5" holes as a smoke extraction method. Quiet, 200 CFM and cheaper than a small exhaust fan of the same capacity. Fan connectors allow you to connect all fans in parallel. - no special wiring required. Turn on the 12V x 1A power supply and you're good to go. I really needed tape for the exhaust ports. All I had was a 5 inch hole saw and the fans are actually 4.5 inches. If you are interested I can provide a picture.
