I've had other (cheaper) holders that didn't fit tightly in the cup, but this one does. The material is solid and looks durable. It will charge, but be aware that in MOST cases it will not charge. I have a very thin SPECK case (Speck Presidio Grip Phone Case for LG V40 ThinQ - Black) and I can't charge with it. I've knocked down a start for this, but I don't know if this is an issue with Qi charging itself or with this device's implementation. It also had lock/release buttons on either side. Update: Qi is an open interface standard that defines wireless power transfer through inductive charging up to 4 cm (1.6 inches) and was developed by the Wireless Power Consortium. The system uses a charging pad and a compatible device that is placed on the pad and charged through resonant inductive coupling. So it turns out that the implementation on this device is very unsuccessful. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
