These headphones are damn good.

I don't have as many headphones as others, and certainly nothing outrageously high quality. I love listening to music as does most of my 59 yrs. I am very happy with my choice and I believe that each pair meets certain requirements for me. Over the years I've heard of quality control issues with HiFiMan, but I'm happy to report that I don't see anything here that bothers me. The build is great, except maybe for the black powder coat finish, but I can handle it with ease. The standard cable is solid, but too short for anything other than travel headphones, but I don't see a reason for that. They're big, they let noise through, and why go out into a big, bad, sometimes hostile world with such a good-sounding, expensive set of cans? In my opinion, these are headphones for the home. They need some strength to move properly. They may not show energy requirements due to resistance, but they are not very efficient. I haven't had mine long enough to connect it to my Little Dot or Emotiva XDA-2 while my feet heal, but I've heard it on the USB-powered Fiio E10 many times. It sounds amazing as a combo, but it's not very reliable. I still recommend a little more juice. They feel very comfortable on my huge dome. The pads are fluffy and elastic, comfortable and not hot at all. The clamping force can be easily adjusted with care and patience thanks to the stable construction. I adjusted to my needs by reaching just over the yokes and bending out a little over a couple of days and voila. It seems to me that the ear pads are easy to remove and replace. Sonically they are great. The bass is tight, controlled and very fast. The mids are rich and offer an expansive soundstage, more so than the closed Audeze. The highs are clear and wonderful, with no fatigue or harshness for my older ears. Overall good sounding headphones. If you prefer a deeper bass punch, just EQ the bass a bit and enjoy, I highly recommend it. Just put your ears in the ear cups and get ready for a big happy dance that erupts on your face. You are worth every penny.
