Elegoo washing and curing station Elegoo Mercury washing and curing station I'll start with my final thoughts on this product, so if that's all you want to know about whether it's worth buying or not, then I would say yes. Especially for the price it does its job well, not without a few quarks here and there, but works well. -- -- Full Review -- -- First of all I would like to say that I myself purchased this product from Revain for $120.00. USA, I thought it was a little expensive and besides the printer itself a big purchase for me and I wasn't sure if it was money spent. After about half a year of use, I can say: yes, I am completely satisfied with my purchase, I think it was worth every penny. I'll go over all the features, their pros and cons, as well as build quality and cost. I won't compare it to an ultrasonic cleaner as I don't have one, but personally I find it works very well and I love that I can both clean and cure with the same device. Double our fun, double our fun! -- Wash function The wash function works well, there is room for improvement, but overall it works as it should. It washes in one direction half the time and then reverses direction for the rest of the time. I find it leaves my impressions very clean and I was very happy with the result. Especially when you prewash your models, which I do, I have a bin that I wash off most of the resin in, so that's my dirty muddy bin, then I drop them into the wash station and they come out sparkling clean! I think our favorite cleaner, the bald guy, would approve. The wash function has two downsides, one is the basket, if you wash minis which I do a lot, or just small items, they can get through some pretty big holes in the basket, especially if you remove the pad before washing. This is easy to fix. I attached a piece of screen material, you know what you have on your porch or deck, to keep the skimmers out. You can also use metal screens instead of plastic screen material. The other issue is the laundry basket itself, but make sure you don't overload the basket with models, if there are too many it won't be able to move enough liquid to empty them. Also, there is a maintenance part in your trash can. You need to make sure you don't harden the plastic in the flushing liquid in the bin itself as this can stick the bearing to the bottom of the bin and cause it to get stuck and not spin easily, just pour the old cloudy liquid into one another basket and then leave them in the sun. Then clean it a little with pure alcohol or detergent and then pour in new fluid to keep the bearing spinning well and not sticking. I haven't encountered any issues with storing cleaning liquid in the reservoir for long periods of time. Time too, mine has been in for 3 months now and it's still working fine, even my 15% alcohol/water mix. It should be noted that washing containers or a waste bin are currently not readily available, but can be obtained from Elegoo if required. Okay I lied one more thing about the bin that could be improved and it really only holds weed, now the lid closes well but the latches are a bit odd so it's a bit difficult to latch at times. Although after a few uses they come loose and are easier to snap on, I think it's worth mentioning. Another great feature that I think is worth mentioning is that if you have a Mars series printer or something close to that size, you can use the plate holder that comes with it and put your entire Mars build plate in the laundry basket, You know if it's your thing. I didn't use this function because I have a Saturn and the build plate is too big. Maybe someday we'll get Jupiter to accompany our Saturn. Hahaha! Wink, wink!-- Curing function The curing process is as easy as pressing a button. You simply exchange the laundry basket for a curing plate, which is very easy to attach to magnets with a few pins, set the time and you're good to go. Just make sure you put that cover on before you press any buttons, or it will yell at you with rhythmic security breach beeps until you do. One thing I would have liked here is that you set your settings with the lid closed or closed, and then yell at you when you try to be really unsure but activate those supposed settings with the play button. I find the beep is great when you try to press start with the lid still closed, but sometimes I just want to change the setting and can't, although to be honest it's just a trivial issue. Can work really heal? Really great! I've been very happy with the results as long as it makes perfectly cured prints. Now, if you have a Saturn like me, you can't wash or dry prints the size of an entire build plate, but I rarely have things that big, but if you do, you'll need to use an alternative treatment. Method, at least until they come out with a touch of "Jupiter", a touch, Elegoo will build a large Jupiter flushing station for us they need. By the way, Jupiter wasn't real at the time of writing. So if you're reading this at the time I'm writing this, he doesn't exist and shouldn't even be called that, just saying don't stress the moment. if you search for Elegoo Jupiter on the internet and you can't find it because it doesn't exist! The LEDs in the curing station work very well and cure well and quickly, they have two different wavelengths so there shouldn't be a problem curing whatever resin you use. In general there is nothing more to say about it, it spins, heals, does what it does and does it well. I have. made of powder coated metal except of course the plastic lid, bin and turntable which frankly i like the colors of the wash station yellow is sexy my personal opinion don't judge me! The device is very durable, I feel like I could drop it like it's hot and it will survive although I wouldn't recommend it! It would probably break lol. But it feels so harsh, it's like a small spacecraft drifting through the galaxy on a mission to the city of Saturn or Mars, whichever you prefer. Okay, admittedly, things got a little weird. But actually the build quality is good and it's heavy, I didn't expect it to be that heavy. - So I would buy it?! - Should you buy this?! it, and let's face it, I can be lazy and I love efficiency and it ticks both the boxes for me. I can throw a model at a little robot, forget about it, and come back with a jolly bacon and mustard sandwich. Keep the sandwich away from the wash station, tar and alcohol don't mix well. So yes, I would buy this for myself. I love that it saves time and gives me ease of use, and if you want my wash station you'll have to pry it from your cold, dead, mustard-covered fingers. But when you buy this, well it depends if saving time is important to you, you feel a longing for an extra robotic friend to spend time with because you don't have a life because all you do is print miniatures and you can't do anything else because you need more minis and your life just isn't complete without them! to breathe. Seriously, Mercury saves me time so I can multitask and does a great job too. It's simple and easy to use and it looks great doing it. So if this is for you then go for it, you won't regret it! But whether it's worth 120.00 is up to you to answer. I think so, but you have to find out, and now hopefully you can. I'll put it this way if I built a washing and curing station it would cost me about the same so I didn't save anything except time. my last thoughts Well I have nothing more to say, it's a great little robot, it's well built, does its job well and has very few problems or quarks to deal with, what more can I say. I hope this helps you decide if a mercury washing and solidification station is right for you, and I hope my ramblings haven't pushed you into a dark corner to hide from my horribly mundane jokes.
