I have two wood color options and am happy with them. However, the silver ones appear to have magnets covered in black plastic, which reduces the strength of the magnets (just my hypothesis). Because the magnets control how the earbuds turn on, you can just turn them on when you don't want them to. If I didn't have wooden ones to compare I wouldn't know, but the difference in strength is noticeable. Perhaps this will not be decisive for some.
