I have to say it works well, fits through the tank and the remote works. I feel like I got my money's worth. What I don't like is that the lightweight case gets very hot. Let's see if that becomes a problem in the future. I was expecting aquarium LEDs to be a much cooler temperature. As for the power supply, the power cord could have been longer, and the brackets on the ends of the light panel itself could have been adjusted in length (fasten tightly in length). The problem is that when adjusting and moving, it is very easy for the light mounts to slip off or even increase in width, and then you have a dangerous situation when the LED panel itself is directly above and on the edge of the tank. or possibly fall into the water. I would say a few set screws on each end would have prevented this. The remote control has interesting effects, which are highly appreciated for people's entertainment. I'm not sure about fish. The remote control has a range of approximately 2 feet from the receiver. Why 2 feet? I don't know but it's a range. When I have to move within 2 feet of a mounted controller to use the wireless remote, it seems ALMOST pointless to have a remote. I understand why they have a remote control, it has about 20 buttons. Not practical on a mounted panel. Still. I have Bluetooth in watches, game consoles, speakers and various TV remotes, ROKU etc which gives me a range of 25ft. - could not be placed on the controller? As for the hardwired part. The wires are all strong but a bit flexible and well made with medium length plugs to disconnect and reconnect the wires for ease of installation - which was a great feature. The mounting plate and installed controller look and work well. Very nice aquarium cabinet. The brightness of the light is quite good. Not great, but using it in a freshwater fish/plant tank from a saltwater reef tank means I may have too many expectations. Maybe this is very good for an aquarium with freshwater plants. Because LEDs and their life expectancy should be good. The plants will tell me if it's good enough and I'll update it in 6 months. I deducted one star for the heating of the device, the length of the power cord, the slippery end brackets and the very weak remote control. NONE of these are successful for this device. If the price is right - it does its job and does it well, it's just that version 2 has room for improvement if something like that ever comes out.
