Unfortunately I need 15x magnification for precise eye make-up right now. As other reviewers have noted, due to the magnification and small size (this is a TRAVEL mirror, after all) you don't see a very large area. For example, if you want to check both eyes or the whole face, you need to look in a regular mirror or in a larger mirror with less magnification. The light is pleasant and provides fairly even lighting for the hotel bathrooms that don't have enough light where you need it. I love it so much I always keep one in the bathroom and take the other with me when I travel.
