In the south our winters look like winter today and spring tomorrow. So for me they have to be great all year round. The blue with stripes did not bleed like other dark colors have reported. Since it looked like it had never been opened, I wore it unwashed before washing. It didn't come off on my skin, my sheets, and we didn't see any sign of significant wash bleed on the first wash. We washed it on the gentle cycle with lukewarm to lukewarm water and tumble dried. After a single wash, there was no noticeable shrinkage, wrinkling, or fading. The buttons are a bit tight for the buttons used, which I like as they are less likely to come loose. I still don't really solve anything. But those who unbutton their shirt instead of simply pulling it over their head may find that it needs some break-in. The material turned out to be exactly what I wanted - not too heavy for warmer weather, but not so flimsy that it feels cheap and will hold its shape. It's a loose pajama set, just what I wanted. I'm average height and they are probably a bit long on the leg, but that also depends on where you wear them, waist or hips. I'm first and I still pull them up a bit when I go out in the yard on a rainy night just to make sure they don't drag across the ground. However, they are not long enough to ever step on the soles of my feet, even in stockings. They are very comfortable both for relaxing in the evening and during sleep. If there's one thing to watch out for, it's the lack of a lace. I thought this would concern me as elasticated cuffs lose their elasticity over time. So I usually like to have a lanyard as a fallback. But these pajamas made me reconsider, as the elastic is almost perfectly taut - not too tight and not too loose. It's quite a narrow band. But it seems to be of better quality than the ones in the pajamas I usually wear with a spare drawstring, which makes me wonder if this elastic will last longer. Let's see how they hold up.
