This is a new skincare regimen for me and it's great. I used it on my English saddle and it didn't smudge and seemed to really penetrate the leather giving it a nice soft sheen and giving it the right "stickiness" that a Hunter saddle needs. A saddle that is too slippery at my jumping level leads to disaster. The smell was subtle - I could really only detect one pleasant smell - but this one was pleasant enough. I will be using it on my gear to see how it performs but after using it on my saddle I am very happy with the results. No matter how much good leather costs, I never skimp on care.
