This coffee warmer works as well as it gets. The 20W heater delivers 68 Btu/hour with perfect efficiency. BTU increases 1 pound of water by 1 degree Fahrenheit. A 16-ounce cup of coffee without a mug weighs about a pound. So a 20-watt heater can't raise your 16-ounce drink more than 68 degrees in theory, but far less in practice. In other words, it doesn't keep your coffee hot, it slows down its cooling rate a little and keeps it a little warmer than room temperature. In my experience it stabilizes at the temperature of warm but not hot tap water. For me it's warm enough to make my coffee more enjoyable. If you expect this, this is what you get. To do more would require a larger heater, which would be dangerous, so higher wattage coffee warmers are not commercially available. Otherwise, they are easy to use with one-touch controls. There are power saving modes which I think are meant for candles - you never want to use them for drinks. The device has flat, smooth surfaces that are easy to clean. It looks beautiful to me - simple but streamlined.
