I hold this little bar under the faucet for a few seconds to soften it, then rub the entire softened outer layer onto my face, then rub it into the skin in small circles with wet hands. I like that the little pieces of scrub aren't as harsh as some of the apricot scrubs I've used in the past because I can actually clean under my eyes where makeup can settle after washing. I used it every day and one bar lasted at least a month. In fact, all Ethiques bars last a very long time when used correctly.
