Terrible tonearm, not adjustable

I can't play most 45s without skipping them (towards the end). There is no tone arm tension adjustment. If you move the arm back and forth in the up position, you may notice that the arm moves slightly towards the center at the beginning of the recording and moves away from the center towards the end. no It's likely that coarse wires coming out of the back of the tonearm are preventing it from rotating freely. Most modern turntables now have a USB option and every one I've tried is better than this one.
