I need a hassle free ball valve that will allow me to combine the heat pump water heater condensate drain with a pressure relief valve on the common pipe to the outside. Installed vertically in the condensate drain line, such a non-return valve does not prevent the condensate from draining freely. When the relief valve is triggered, the sudden pressure at the outlet of the non-return valve causes the ball to bottom out on the top seal, preventing the waste water from flowing back into the heat pump and being routed out in a common pipe. This valve is of high quality and can be disassembled if it ever needs cleaning.
