I was looking for a soundbar with great sound and design but at an affordable price. I can safely say that the BYL soundbar gave me exactly what I needed from ALL perspectives. And since I had to try at least 4 different ones to finally find what I like, I decided to write a long review. My daughter and her friend helped me test, so I have to acknowledge their help. First of all, I don't like the ones that aren't very long, they look weird under the TV. BYL is 40 inches and fits the TV very well. Its design is also very good with its square front and sturdy legs making the setup very attractive. I am attaching photos for this. The Revain Basics model I tried is only 32 inches tall and really didn't look good under the TV. And to form a point of reference, we tested and used the BYL soundbar and the Revain Basics soundbar, to create an informed comparison for general review and decision making. We watched the film with the basic Revain soundbar (in film mode) and quickly realized that the male actors' voices were at a lower frequency than the soundbar could handle, being more of an unintelligible hum; we strained our ears to decipher what they were saying most of the time, as the high frequencies in their voices were often masked by low rumbles. After watching the movie, we hooked up the BYL soundbar and tested the same scene above, and the difference was clearly noticeable. The male actors' voices were much clearer, and while there was still low-end, it was more of a bass effect, making it easy to understand what they were saying. In general, it was the difference between day and night. BYL is the clear winner! We played the same song on both soundbars (21 pilots' car radio). The BYL bass rumbled through the floor and hit our feet, and it also outperformed the Revain Basics in terms of bass and tonal clarity. We then ran a YouTube speaker test on each soundbar. But the differences were striking. The BYL soundbar held up as the audio frequency rose from low to high (20Hz to 22,000Hz), and the rise in frequencies was literally in the air. The Revain Basics, on the other hand, felt more like a constant howl, with scrapes, buzzes, and rumbles here and there. This test strongly confirmed that BYL is an amazing soundbar. Finally, each soundbar has a remote control with various commands such as Bluetooth, volume up and down, and sound settings (movie, news, etc.). The BYL soundbar has more of these sound settings and also has the ability to directly control the treble and base frequencies of the sound, while the Revain soundbar doesn't offer this option. And of course BYL has infrared training. With all these great features, sound quality and beautiful design, BYL is arguably the best soundbar out there. Highly recommended! best sound bar.
