Great value for the money, definitely recommended!
I took my daughter (well, myself) upset, of course, a limited number of games (which I wrote about above), got a console (camera, second joystick, and a knack game) - my daughter ran through the game in a couple of days, and now that's all there is to it. The console is well worth the money. The only games available through the subscription service are variations on the Paint platformer genre. Here on the PS3 Vita, for example, they gave out Dead Space 3 in June. The month before that, they also gave her some type of fantastic children's game about a guy with magic scissors, but I forgot the name of the game. Even the PS Vita has several enjoyable titles available through subscriptions, but only those of us who buy a PS4 are left out in the cold.
- More bells and whistles have been added to the gamepad, making it far more convenient than its predecessor. However, it is understandable that many of these features are not utilized very frequently, such as the touch panel. The playroom is extremely happy with the console overall because it does not produce any noise, it does not become too hot, the design is stylish, and so on.
- To this point, there is only a very small variety of games, and the pricing for those games are absolutely outrageous (for example, a terrifying platformer drawn in what I believe to be merely paint and written in English asks for 600–900 dollars). I don't understand what the developers of this are thinking; perhaps they are just hoping that, because there is such a limited selection, the consumer will purchase at least one product.) The basic configuration does not include a stand, despite the fact that I do not require a stand in order for everything to function properly and that nothing is going to fall over. However, rather of trying to remove as much as 900 for it, they could have been better off included this awful piece of plastic with the package.
