Our dogs back legs are really bad. She has a hard time getting up from a sitting position. This really helps out a lot, however if it could stay attached to her it would be even better. We have steps in our house and she doesn't realize that she has difficulty yet, so we have to run around looking for the harness quickly to able to help her before she attempts to go up and down stairs. It can just be a little upsetting because she is quick to attempt things on her own before we can use the sling to help her and if the harness stayed on her it would be easier to help immediately when she required the help. But it is soft and easy to use and it is a big help.
