I chose this option because I'm constantly changing road and track pads from the 4-piston calipers I have on my front wheels. Compressing the pistons on them has always been a big problem and it works better than anything I've used before. This is a high quality, very reliable tool; not thin at all. I really like the design of the scissors. . . It's simple and effective - way better than the ratchet spreader I bought (totally useless). It's important to be very precise with how you position it, as the expanders themselves are quite narrow and it's easy to compress the pistons unevenly if you're not careful. My only gripe is the size of the knob, which you turn to expand the tool. . That's not enough to get the leverage that's sometimes needed. This is easily fixed by putting a small tube on the end of the pen. In general I am very satisfied. I'm glad I bought it.
