Review on Belula Boar Bristle Hair Brush: Detangle & Style Any Type Of Hair! by Clinton Delgado

Very thin, inferior handle and base on an otherwise excellent hairbrush

As far as brushing hair, this brush works great. I have long hair that is thick but fine. It used to all be straight but now some of it is still straight and some is wavy. It’s very difficult to get a brush through it without pulling or breakage. I almost just cut it off but decided to try a boar’s bristle brush first. I’ve been very pleased with how well this brush works. I start at the bottom and slowly brush my way up, detangling as I go. I brush both underneath and on top of my hair.) I really like the combination of the boar bristles and the plastic bristles. The plastic bristles have small balls on the end that protects hair. What is very disappointing is that the handle is much too thin to hold comfortably in one’s hand. (It’s also much more likely to break when dropped.) When I was much younger I had a brush much like this except the wooden handle and base was three times as thick as this one. It was much more comfortable. So I ordered another brand (Desert Breeze). Desert Breeze’s brushes (I ordered two different kinds) are excellent in every way — great bristles AND they have a much thicker and higher quality handle and base. I will keep this brush as a backup but won’t buy this brand/model again. It’s very unfortunate that the thin handle and base on this brush detracts so much from an otherwise excellent hairbrush.

Pros
  • The natural boar bristles help to distribute oils throughout your hair, giving it a healthy, conditioned look
Cons
  • May not work well on hair that has been colored or highlighted
