I've waited months to review this product as I don't want to give reviews based on days/weeks of experience. Installation was easy, Windows 10 installed the drivers automatically. A piece of cake. Connected it to my Gen 2 DAS (Sans Digital) with a good quality USB-C to USB-C cable. With (4) 10TB WD Reds everything is booted up super. After a few weeks of use, I noticed that sometimes the connection drops and drives disappear. A few days after that I started having serious boot lags. It booted to the login screen and then disabled my keyboard for about 1 minute before I could enter the password. I tried to live with these problems, but it only got worse. Very frequent wire sticking, often loses connection. Just not worth the trouble. I've tried different cables, uninstalled/reinstalled using the included drivers on the included disc. But I ended up using a USB-C to USB-A 3.0 cable again and plugging it directly into the onboard 3.0 port . Now everything works fine except for the decrease in data transfer rate. I really wanted to like this card. The transfer speed was excellent when it worked, the price was great, and it used the ASMedia chipset, but common issues made me look elsewhere. I would not recommend this card to anyone looking for USB Gen2 capabilities.
