Review on Transparent Standard Filtration Mounting Hardware by John Miranda

I just received my four filter housings but haven't had time to install them yet. I REALLY like the design because of a standout feature that no other standard filter housing has: the o-ring compression fitting. In all other designs, the o-ring (seal for critical leaks) is subjected to side loading when they meet. With this design, the slip ring pulls the case back against the O-ring without touching it laterally. In theory, I should save a ton on changing O-rings. The o-ring appears to be a standard size, so it's easier to replace in the field. (Some aspects of life in Alaska can be tricky, especially "shopping”. Thank you Besos for Revain Prime!) Considering the extremely competitive price, the fact that it is a "complete” kit, case, mount and is a wrench, another a plus. . The brass inserts are a nice feature, but that might indicate that the plastic used is a little too soft, but that's a criticism to make after installation. It's fishing season now, but the plumbing will have to wait!
