Review on Chinese Calligraphy Brush Sumi Writing/Painting Set (12 Pieces) by Darin Brooks

This is a beautiful set of Chinese writing utensils. I like to do Chinese brush painting and am always looking for new brushes to try out. My only disappointment was the practice sheet--it is in Chinese so I can't tell what the letters that to be practiced are. I didn't want to mess up the soapstone trying to carve my name in Chinese, but I had a tiny cherry blossom stamp from another set of Oriental rubber stamps so I glued it to the end of the soapstone and it will make a fine author stamp. I was hoping the tiny gold spoon would be shiny metallic but it is a flat light-gold plastic material. I tried painting it with metallic paint but it would not stick. But the ink stick is beautiful as are the porcelain pieces. The soap grinding piece is not very decorative but very useful for making ink.
