Works well and has a consistency similar to thin compressed charcoal sticks, which also works well. The Sanguine and Bistre colors allow for a sense of shading different from black but compatible with black. White Conte works well on colored paper to highlight areas. Covers all strengths of tags and lies in the hand in a controlled manner. It blends well and mixes well with a finger or a tortillon.
