I bought this to store embroidery floss that is wrapped around cardboard spools. My existing box is full so I needed more space. I bought it because it had the internal configuration I was looking for and I needed extra storage space. I didn't shop for the price. I was happy to find it. But it's VERY cheaply made. It arrived broken [cf. a piece of plastic broken off at the corner. Therefore, I must limit my storage to threads that do not contain protein fibers, as the resulting hole is an open invitation for any migrating moth. So no crew wool. Cotton thread should fit. A box that I have had for many years and still serves me well, has small plastic loops to open and close. This box has just a thin, flat (bendable) plastic extension that connects the lid to the box in two places. I expect the lid to come loose long before the lid I've been using since the 1980's. Pros: The storage design is exactly what I was looking for. Cons: Poor design leads to breakage before it is delivered. In any case, poor construction (lid attachment) will result in a short service life. I would happily pay more for a better box with this configuration. I haven't seen any. And of course when I bought this, I didn't expect it to be so poorly made. As a result, more plastic is going to landfill years earlier than it should be.
