I wanted an external webcam mount and bought it along with a desk mount clip and a camera mount. The metal tube is hollow so not as heavy as it looks but very strong with well made connections. It is easy to position at different angles and change position by slightly loosening the connections. No additional hardware is required to set them up. Anything much heavier than my tiny webcam will certainly fit. Just make sure you buy or already have a clip or mount to attach it to and a mount for whatever you want to connect it to.
