Review on De&quot Longhi Dedica EC 685, black by Franciszka Wierzbick ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

This is the first coffee maker I've ever owned, so my review will naturally be biased. About a year and a half ago, I began using this product. To my surprise, the coffee tastes just as good as it does in cafes, and that makes me very happy (of course, with a certain skill). I went out and got a second one to give to my family. Coffee is not just coffee, and judging by the evaluations that people put here, they pour the cheapest coffee they can find into their machines and then claim that all coffee machines are the same. It simply isn't so. It's not easy to find a quality build at this pricing point, yet the quality of construction is neither awful nor excellent. The metal horn is top-notch, however the rubber hoses and metal nozzle of the cappuccinatore are inconvenient to detach and clean after each use. They say it's loud, but I know from experience that the automatic coffee maker in my office was both louder and cost three times as much. Do machines exist that don't make any noise? Like many people, I had to decide between buying a coffee machine and making carob coffee by hand. Simpler to care for, and less expensive to fix if something wrong. Two cups of cappuccino can be made in four to five minutes.

Pros
  • Superior simplicity and construction (relatively)
Cons
  • Before making coffee, you must adjust the cappuccinatore's hot steam temperature. It is necessary to strictly monitor the level of water in the barrel, otherwise if the compressor swallows air, it starts to work strangely and noisily
