I bought this with the intention of making a hot pot for Thanksgiving dinner. I tested it before the big day so there were no glitches. I'm glad I did! There are several hot and dead zones on the grill where the meat has not been cooked. The teapot itself made me happy. I liked that there was a divider so you could put two pans in at the same time. My friend is allergic to seafood and I LOVE seafood so it was nice to be able to share the broth so we could both enjoy our own party. Tip: If you fill it too high, the liquid will bubble up the other side. What ultimately made me return the pan is that I tried using only chopsticks and plastic spoons to eat from the pan, but where the heating element touched the bottom of the pan it caused the non-stick coating to lift and peel. Teflon is not good to eat and I tried rubbing the stains several times but the black flakes kept falling off which means the nonstick coating will continue to peel off. It's a shame because I'd really like to keep it and use it for Thanksgiving.
