I bought these to block a noisy heatsink fan for my Monoprice Select Plus IIIP printer (like Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus). substitute. The original fan was noisy from the day I got my printer and finally died a few days ago. The new fan is incredibly quiet. After installing it I had to look at it to see if it was spinning. When the fan is on full blast you can hear it running, but it's still much, much quieter than the original. I encountered two issues with using it as a replacement for my printer: First, the cord length is much longer. The original fan cable was 80mm long. These fans have 290 mm (11.4 inch) long cables (see pictures). I ended up packing the extra length into the case on the back next to where the connector plugged in. Second, as others have noted, these fans take a few seconds to reach full speed. I don't see this as a big problem, especially in my use case where it's always on when the printer is on. Replacement fans are $8 each (plus shipping), so I figured getting five for one would be cheap. a lot of. While they don't last as long as the originals, they're quieter and cheaper than Monoprice replacement fans. And as a bonus, I automatically have spare parts if they fail.
