They really are durable. It's been saying "Low Toner" for over a month, but as soon as I see a faded area on the page I take it out by shaking it back and forth, then up and down (vertically) and when I lay it down back in, it prints fine. This is a home office and we probably don't print much, but it lasts a lot longer than a standard cartridge.
