I line the strainer with gauze to make herbal tea/tincture baths for my cat. The stuff in the supermarket is a waste in comparison. I used 4 pieces of stuffing from the grocery store with a giant weave like a Halloween spider web or something. Many particles have still made it to the jug. This stuff, I use 2 cuts and it filters almost everything. It even occurred to me last time that I could probably wash and reuse these things. Other things I had to throw away after one use (branches and leaves - cut and sift - just braid them).
