Review on πŸ“€ Daewoo DV6T955B DVD / VCR Combo: The Ultimate Multimedia Solution by William Stewart

It "still works " after 2 years, however.

Bought 2 years ago because I needed to replace my 10 year old Mitsubishi VCR which decided it would no longer work. I had the money and since the VCR/DVD set was only $100 I thought the set idea was a great one. I don't really need a DVD player as both my PS2 and computer support DVDs. I could also just connect my computer to the VCR using the S-Video connector on the back of the graphics card, but that doesn't matter. Anyway I bought it because I needed something new and since it was cheap I thought it was a good deal. I was wrong. It's been working for me for about 2 years with no problems. If you can believe it, when one thing goes into action, the other thing has to go with it. I mean, the first problem I noticed is that the tapes weren't ejecting properly when ejecting. It still holds onto the tape spool easily, and if you don't notice it and pull it out without care, you will damage the tape. Not a big big problem because it's fixable. What really worries me is how the DVD player must have behaved as well. Every DVD I put in my DVD player freezes at random times while watching and you see the numbers on the display jumping around. After about a minute of freezing, playback starts 20 seconds earlier than last time. The DVD player will continue to do this at random times throughout the disc. It's pretty annoying. Other than that, I haven't noticed anything new. The VCR is a small problem but the DVD player is a big problem as I don't know how to fix it. I have a feeling the DVD player broke because it got so hot while the discs were in. It just spins so fast and heats up even when nothing is playing and the disc just sits there. Well it lasted me at least two years and the VCR still records great what I really need it for. The problem with the DVD player is just annoying. If I were you, I would steer clear of something so cheap and go for a much more reliable brand like Panasonic, Mitsubishi or Sony. They simply have a much longer lifespan and are a much better investment. At least I've used it for two years and the VCR still records great which is all I really need it for.
