I don't live in California so I don't need an internal regulator to reduce flow. On the Waterpik, this regulator is easy to remove, giving me full water pressure - with all the smooth and efficient Waterpik variations in flow patterns. I have found that although Waterpik products are made of plastic, they last many years before needing to be replaced. However, over time all of these showerheads break off the wall at the point of connection with the pipe and at such times I have tried other products. They never perform as well as the Waterpik and this is the best of the Waterpik hand showers. And even if the regulator is still there, it will deliver the strongest flow. You will feel that you are getting really clean, the soap will be washed off completely.
