Review on Effortlessly Crush Beer and Soda Cans with Dial Industries Easy Pull Wall Mounted Can Crusher by Andrea Bogenschutz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works very well. Needs lubrication from time to time (probably everyone).

I bought this for someone who doesn't have very strong hands so I needed something easier to use. The answer was that it actually works very well, even for those who have trouble crushing cans using any other method. Its design is actually very good. When you pull down, it twists the entire mechanism holding the can and crushes it while your hand is at a good height for maximum power. In doing so, it conveniently lowers the bin down where you can easily place a trash can or similar, so you don't even have to reach out and grab it. Not only does this speed up the process, but they sometimes leak a bit when crushed, and you really don't want stale soda sticking to your hands when you touch them. There are only two points to note. It's really easy to install, relatively speaking, but it needs to be "installed" first. You can't just set it up and use it - it has to be screwed to a wall or something strong high enough for you to pull it off. Also, if someone doesn't know any better, they might not understand that you need to screw it into a stud instead of just sticking it straight into the wall's drywall (I think even with anchors it will loosen and fall out very quickly). . applies to all, so just keep that in mind and I'm not deducting a single star for that. Also from time to time (not very often) it is necessary to lubricate the moving parts so that the movement is smooth and light. This is probably true of each of them actually. I'm not sure if everyone knows about this, but the instructions say so, so I definitely wouldn't deduct a star for that. My only concern is the use of plastic in almost every detail. . I give them credit, though: they're made of very thick and durable plastic. In fact, they reinforce most of the details, which is rarely the case with metal structures. By using plastic they make it thicker and stronger without significantly increasing the cost so that can be more of a plus than a minus. Anyhow, it seems durable enough to last for quite a while, as much as it might seem disconcerting I think it's actually fine.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
