Very good antenna, although it is made of aluminum and plastic, it works GREAT! But I'll give you a few tips to help you with that. This is my second antenna of this type. That happened to me. The 33ft cable that came with my first one had bottom ends that didn't hold up well, when I ran the cable through the wall it separated a bit and that tiny bit made my entire device stop. works, but before that we did a test. I like Low Country and Duluth, Minnesota is high on a hill and there are many hills and valleys between me and Duluth. I tried once to put a 100 mile motor antenna on the roof of my house with 2 8ft extensions. misplaced guide wires and all and I caught the canals, even though it was very snowy at times it was awful. In the end, a year later, I dropped everything. Then everything went digital and I saw one of these antennas for sale for about $25. I like what it can hurt? My old setup cost me about 185 and it was awful. 100 miles and I couldn't even do 45! shish. So we hooked this little guy up and ran a cable through the window to a small 32 inch TV that I could use to quickly scan for channels. My son held the antenna and pointed it at Duluth and he was in the yard with the antenna on a 6 foot pole. We have zero channels. I'm like a bastard but he says we're literally aiming right at your neighbor's house, so let me walk across the yard so we can aim him through his backyard. Aaah we have 3 channels! Ok progress! I then got him to hold the antenna as high as possible while he was on the ground which was about 13-14 feet up and we got 7 channels! I then asked him to go up on the roof and just set up a pole on the roof so the antenna was 6 feet above my roof which I would say is about 25 feet off the ground. TA Dah! After another channel scan we have 18 channels! BIG! So now I had to build a stand to get the antenna that high. It took me several months to come up with it. When this was completed I ran the cable through the wall and then I noticed that it came loose when I tugged on the cable a little and I pushed it back as far as I could but it doesn't matter if you pull the end free, just get a NEW CABLE! After that I had no channels. But I didn't really think it was a cable, I thought it was a block. Please note that the device has an amplifier and some people have poor amplifiers, so it is ready to use. I thought that happened to mine because I hooked it up to my Direct TV setup to try it out and I figured the signal from those boxes was coming back through my cable and roasting the AMP on the roof. So I went to buy a new one and that's this model right here. Now this model is better because you don't have to twist all the parts together, they clicked them together and used a can of wing nuts so no screwdrivers are needed. And understand, the ends of this cable that this device comes with are much better and stronger! Almost identical to what people use Direct TV. So, to try something, I just changed my cable and choice, I had all 18 channels again. I ran a short cord from the box to a TV 3ft away and the other outlet I have goes down 50ft to another TV in the common room. For a minute I could only get the one to work which was near the box but I found the other 50ft away wasn't twisted tight, heck you gotta keep your cables tight no kidding! And since it's a power amplifier antenna, you need to connect the power supply and turn it on, and when it's on, the light on the unit will light up and the AMP on the roof antenna will glow a little red. light come on When you turn off the switch, there is no signal. I hope this helps because I can't believe it
