Review on TAKPART Steering Mounting Bracket Compatible by Joe Murphy

Unfortunately this power steering bracket was not compatible with the 1965 Chevelle with the 283 I am working on now. I have a factory style Saginaw power steering pump and haven't found a way to mount this bracket where a reasonable adjustment can be made. I took the time to rotate the brace 180 degrees to make sure it wasn't a problem. Breakage of this bracket will occur when attempting to install the upper adjustment bracket, it simply will not attach to the power steering pump the way it attaches to the lower or upper water pump bolt. Also, the screw that came with the supplied gasket doesn't fit properly because the top bracket on the water pump housing bracket is too long and the gasket is too short. It is simply not possible to fit this bracket to a power steering pump with the currently supplied kit. The seller is mistaken if he thinks that this part will work with the 65th model stirrups with the 283rd. This will be the first order I have ever returned to Revain and I order at least weekly.
