Very comfortable straight out of the box! They are of excellent quality and appear to be durable. I have plantar fasciitis so I have to wear orthotics and they fit well in these shoes. The balaclava comes out so my orthotics slide right underneath. The earplugs also absorb sweat. These are firming shoes and right on the box it says not to be worn during exercise other than walking. They feel very stable and supportive so they don't feel like those rocking shoes that I would probably sprain my ankle in 5 minutes. They are soft, almost elastic - exceptionally comfortable. In fact, I love these shoes so much I ordered them in brown. I wear them to work with my pants and no one notices. I guess if you're one of those people who worries about wearing the latest fashions on your feet, you wouldn't wear them to the office, but at 5pm my legs still feel great and I'm not limping plus car. like everything in paragraphs. I also wear them with shorts and they look stylish and appropriate. Great shoes!
