After trying this just once, I found that I couldn't get very good results with the Prima silicone molds. The clay left wrinkle marks on the surface even after conditioning. Care must also be taken with smaller items as the clay will shrink as it dries and the bottom may not stay flat when it dries (at least in my case). If you don't mind wrinkles, this could add some texture to your piece (I made flowers, so no, I didn't mean to do that), or you could apply small microbeads to "blemishes" etc. etc. and then paint ( That's the only way I see myself in the future). I was expecting much better results from the reviews I read here. To be honest I think Sculpey polymer clay works much better (a paste machine is a great way to condition polymer clay so you don't have little creases etc on the surface of the finished product). I think it's a successful product where sometimes you can get good results and sometimes you can't. Be prepared for some failure rate. I definitely wouldn't use this to make furniture handles etc. I think it belongs strictly in the crafts category. If you have teenage children at home, this can be a fun art material for them to create things from their imagination and draw later. I'm not really excited about using silicone molds to create mixed media craft embellishments, etc. or decorative trim for furniture.
