I have a 32" LG QHD (2160 x 1440p) gaming monitor that supports 144Hz. However my Dell laptop (XPS 9560) only has one HDMI port which doesn't support full frequency updates Luckily it has a USB-C port and this adapter works GREAT full resolution but it didn't offer anything above 60Hz until I got the laptop restarted, then 144 Hz appeared in the display menu. Every time I unplug the adapter from the USB-C port and plug it back in, it automatically selects 144Hz again, so it works great for a quick shutdown.
