First you need to thoroughly clean the surface.
The key to this and all suction cups is to clean the wall thoroughly. The surface must be cleaned of soap residue. I mean very, very clean. The operating room appears to be clean. Then perform a final cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and a fresh, clean cloth. If you do this, the suction cup will stick. If not, it crashes every time. That's not new. Suckers have always needed this to hold up.
