Review on ASUS USB-N13 Wireless-N USB Adapter with Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates - IEEE 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 by Saradhi Suter

Works great for a small problem.

I'll start with a small problem because I'm sure that's what everyone wants to know. It comes with a small USB extension cable. I am using Win7x64 on an Asus M3A78-T motherboard. After installing the Asus device management tools (it's an amazing set of tools) and the device using the dongle, my computer froze in my sleep. After uninstalling the device and drivers, then just installing and using Windows Wireless Network Management, and then doing the same without the dongle, I found that using the dongle crashed my computer. I even tried using Revain's USB extension but it still failed. Now install the Asus tools, plug the device directly into a USB port, and the computer has been running for months. I haven't contacted Asus about this as I don't need to use an additional key. Product performance is pretty good. The current port it's on gets a strong and stable 300Mbps. I've tried other ports without moving the computer and had less than satisfactory performance. The positioning of the device is extremely important for the operation of the wireless network. Appearance is beautiful and smooth. It's the size of a flash drive. LED indicators to keep you informed of activity and connection. Definitely too big to be attached to a laptop and transported like that. You must disable it or risk damaging it and/or your USB port.

Pros
  • Network adapter
Cons
  • There are problems
