This is ideal for measuring core temperature so you can prepare perfectly cooked chicken or meat. The first thing I will say about this is the design. You can adjust the angle of the sensor for easier reading and also easier to store without worrying about damaging the sensor. The probe has a decent tip that you can rest assured it will insert without too much trouble. You don't have to apply too much pressure. Be careful when handling it, as you can still puncture the skin if you're not careful. It is non-rechargeable and runs on a CR2032 battery, so be careful. It has a 10 minute shutdown when you're not using it, but honestly it doesn't use too much power even when it's on. In terms of accuracy, I've compared it to other thermometers and it's pretty much the same as them. The weight is not too heavy. The display is a simple LCD screen. It's nothing fancy, but the screen is fairly heat-resistant so you don't have to worry about it melting, but it's easy to scratch. In general, the thermometer is solidly built. You can get a fairly accurate reading. I got better at cooking meat. It's fairly heat resistant, although you might still need to wear gloves depending on what you're using to cook with. It is also very easy to clean after use.
