I have had this charger for a long time. I've used it with my Galaxy Note 10+ from time to time. Most of the time this worked fine. The only problem I had was during the winter months. When it was very cold outside, he couldn't seem to stand it either. But it was good. After a while I just got impatient to press it against the suction cups every time I got in the car. So I put it on the passenger side and used it whenever my husband was driving my car and I was in the passenger side. HOWEVER I now have a Galaxy Z Flip 3 and it's the ONLY car mount that stays on. that's right AND wirelessly charges my phone. I'm glad I kept it! I've looked through all the mounts I've had (and there are a lot) to find the right one. I didn't want to attach a magnet to my phone. I didn't want to use Pop Socket. I have a Samsung ring case. The ring gets in the way with some closures - but not with this one! Works with the phone closed. The phone is easy to open when needed, even when it's on the charger. This is the one! If you have a foldable phone, you need it! NOTE: This mount turns on and off when it "relocks" your phone. So you hear the suction/suction function intermittently. That being said, having had a HUGE phone and now a foldable, I can tell you that a heavier phone will need flipping more often than my Z Flip. The smaller your phone, the less you will hear it.
