Review on πŸŽ’ NeatPack 20L Foldable Nylon Backpack with Security Zippers - Durable Daypack in Blue by Chad Gue

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's just really the perfect super-lightweight travel daybag

This is a fantastic, super-light travel backpack.First, folding it up is easy as pie. Just turn the pocket inside out and literally just start stuffing the backpack in there. Fits with no problem whatsoever and no fancy folding technique is needed. The pocket then zips up and even has a little loop at the top so you can grab it. Just toss the packed backpack into your suitcase and done.To unpack, just unzip and pull out the backpack. The pocket it was in gets turned inside out and it becomes a great zippered pocket at the top of the inside of the bag's main compartment. The other "pocket" on the inside of the main portion of the bag is a Velcro half sleeve on the back. That area is suitable to slide in an ipad or very small computer, but there is no padding whatsoever, so you'd definitely want your electronics in a decent case. The main compartment is very generous and could easily hold a day's worth of stuff needed for a day's worth of touring, including room for a rain jacket or towel and beach stuff. On the front there is one decent size zip pocket on the front and a clever almost-hidden pocket on the bottom of the bag that is perfect to toss a pair of shoes (a pair of sandals or maybe simple flats would fit, not huge hiking boots or similar), a sweater, or small towel. The two size mesh pockets easily fit most water bottles. The nylon seems to bead water fine, but no idea how it would do in a deluge. The zippers are regular zippers, not the water resistant kind. There is no padding on the shoulder straps. Instead they are made of a nice, breezy mesh. I find it very comfortable. There is also a mesh on the back to give some airflow there as well. There are no sternum straps or a hip belt, but this is a daybag and shouldn't be so heavy as to need either. There are a couple plastic O-rings on the front where you could throw a carabiner and attach something if you wanted to.My only real complaint are the main compartment zippers. I would have loved these to be the type of zippers that can be locked with a travel lock. It's a simple change that should be a no-brainer for a travel pack. When sightseeing I hate having a zipper back there that could just be opened with no problem by a handy pickpocket. As it stands I can put a carabiner on one of the O-rings and bring it over and put the zipper pulls through the locking carabiner to help secure them. This would work fine as a theft deterrent, but it's not a perfect solution.Overall, though, it's perfect for the one-bag packing I do, and is exactly what I was looking for.

Pros
  • Handy Rings for Attaching Stuff: 2 D-rings are attached to bag with reflective fabric safety loops. Great for clip-on carabiners and other types of gear (fast-access convenience).
Cons
  • Limited ventilation may cause sweat buildup during use
