Review on AV-receiver 5.1 Pioneer VSX-520 by Truong Anh Quan ᠌
I didn³'t expect the quality to be this good.
Completely satisfied! Even my wife, who used to watch everything with sound from the telly, not wanting to deal with the minimum settings of the Sven set, now asked me to teach her how to use the receiver, because without external acoustics she doesn’t even want to watch TV. By the way, the acoustic calibration did not work out very clearly, that is, it is better than not touching the settings at all, but much worse than adjusting the knobs. Perhaps the calibration was hindered by some barely heard sounds from outside the window, although the double-glazed window, maybe the size of the room . but it was possible to achieve a really pleasant sound only after "jogging" through all the menu items of the receiver. Fortunately, it takes a maximum of an hour, even without the on-screen menu on the telly. The main thing is to tune using a high-quality multi-channel source (DTS demo discs are ideal in this regard).
- Design for my taste. Sufficient number of video and audio inputs/outputs. High-quality assembly - I brought it home, unpacked it impatiently and dropped it :) not much, but it weighs a lot and 20 cm in height could have a sad effect, but it survived to my happiness :) The receiver is paired with an Attitude alpha 30 on the fronts and 5.1 computer system svens on the center and rears, after doing all the settings using the DTS demodisk . in general, I began to review many old films. Or rather, not to revise, but to re-listen . "hero", "lord of the rings" - to say that I heard more means to say nothing . the sensations are completely different. So now I'm preparing a mountain of films for re-listening / re-watching. Removed almost all mp3 - after the flak, dvdaudio, dts tracks, they only remotely resemble music. Well, the films from the collection are replaced by Bluriki. In general, with a 47" TV set, this receiver, Attitude acoustics, I will now most likely go to the cinema only for the company. sounded like they never sounded when connected to the receiver)
- of the shortcomings, perhaps, the lack of an on-screen menu when connected to a TV via HDMI. If this menu were available, I would set everything up for myself an hour a floor faster, but since you don’t need to set it up often, I can classify this drawback as minor. It's also sad that there is no video conversion (yes, I want everything at once at a free price: P). Haven't found any more cons yet.
