The original filters that come with Neato have a pre-filter mesh that covers the disposable filter on the bin-facing side. This fabric prevents coarse dirt from getting into the filter folds and clogging them during cleaning. The screen makes it easy to wipe away those large debris when removing dust. These filters do not have a pre-filter. When you use the filter for the first time, the filter folds will immediately fill up with what the vacuum cleaner sucks up when there is dust or pets in your house. At the end of the cleaning session, the filter is clogged and not working at a very high level. The brushes that come with it are great.
